As many of you know, I only spend about six months of the year in Canada. I tend to follow the sun, and once my season here comes to an end, I pack my backpack and continue my pilgrimages. This year marks my fourth year traveling in this rhythm, and it’s already shaping up to be as magical as the last.
Last Year’s Journeys: A Year of Rich Experiences
In 2024, my travels took me to Nepal, Tanzania, and the Philippines—each destination filled with culture, spirituality, and unforgettable experiences.
Tanzania: Hiking Mount Kilimanjaro was more than a physical challenge—it was an inner journey, each step teaching me surrender, presence, and resilience.
Nepal: Trekking to Everest Base Camp reminded me of the vastness of the world and the depth of connection we can feel to everything around us. The crisp mountain air, serene villages, and endless horizons nourished my spirit.
The Philippines: I immersed myself in InnerDance training with PI, living simply in the jungle, often nourished solely by coconuts. This experience deepened my connection to movement, rhythm, and the joy of simplicity.
These experiences were profoundly enriching and set the tone for the path ahead.
This Year’s Pilgrimages: Peru and India
This Year’s Pilgrimages: Peru and India
This year, I’m following my heart to new and familiar lands:
Peru: An unexpected calling has drawn me to Peru. While the details are still unfolding, I feel a deep pull toward transformation, reflection, and connection with the land.
India: I will return to India to continue my yogic studies, reconnect with the Himalayas, and dedicate time to People of Tribe, the clothing brand I launched last year.
Today, we can draw inspiration from these ancient practices. By incorporating cacao into our modern lives, we can create a space for healing and connection.
People of Tribe: A Labor of Love
People of Tribe is a 100% cotton clothing brand created to be shared amongst sisters. Each piece is made to honor both the earth and the body—soft, sustainable, and easy to wear. This year, I will continue nurturing the brand, crafting pieces that carry intention, connection, and love.
Every year, this rhythm of movement and stillness teaches me more about myself, the world, and how I can bring what I learn back into my community. I am grateful for the journeys behind me and excited for those yet to come. I look forward to sharing these moments, practices, and creations with you as they unfold.
Much love
Sunshine
